Saturday saw us travel to Little Compton for our return game, having previously having a convincing win at home in mid April.  The conditions were sunny but breezy afternoon and the trip there contained some beautiful countryside views.  The game should have been 4 triples, but Little Compton could only muster 9 players, so a huge thanks to John Standen and Steve Clarke who kindly volunteered to play for the opposition, allowing us to play 2 rinks and 1 triple.  The green was extremely quick, almost like playing indoors, but as it transpired this did not prevent us from winning the game 56-40.

Rink 3  -  Lead  -  Yvonne Twomey

               No. 2  -  Hannah O'Donoghue

               No. 3  -  James O'Donoghue

               Skip    -  Chris Twomey

It was nice to see Hannah and James back on the green but they struggled against stiff opposition.  The first half of the game was extremely close and, after 10 ends we were only losing by 1 shot, 8-9.  Unfortunately we could only win 2 of the remaining 8 ends and went down 10-19.

Rink 4  -  Lead  -  Dave Drinkwater

               No. 2  -  Sandra Challis

               No. 3  -  Mick Wilkins

               Skip    -  Bryan Ogilvie

The Captains rink took a strangle hold on the game from the start and were leading 7-0 after 4 ends and only allowed the opposition to win 6 of the 18 ends and finished comfortable winners 22-8.

Rink 5  -  Lead  -  Chris Shallis

               No. 2  -  Cliff Hall

               Skip    -  Dave Bryant

A very tight game over the first 8 ends, when the score was 7-7.  We then allowed the opposition to creep ahead over the next 5 ends and were down 13-7 down after 11 ends, but the dreaded 13 struck the opposition and we won the remaining 7 ends and ran out comfortable winners 24-13, scoring 11 over the last 3 ends.

A very pleasant afternoon, enjoyed by all ending in a very good result, giving us the double against a side who we don't always do well against when we play them at their ground.
